Warning: This review contains spoilers of season 2 so if you still not watched or finished watched the entire season, you better stop reading.

Warning 2: If you loved this season and think this was the best season ever of Legend of Korra and Avatar the Last Airbender....  you better stop reading and get the hell out of here before get really mad at my opinion.

This is my opinion based in what I feel about the whole season so I hope if you disagree with me write your personal thoughts and opinions yourself in the comments or make your own review on your journals. For what I read a ton of fans loved this season, a lot great reviews, memorable moments and characters...there are some, but... I don't know if is me alone and I talk with some friends who love the show like myself and they feel exactly the same, so at least is not me alone, in my personal opinion, this season is not only the weakness season of the Avatar series, this season sucks major asses.

As you folks know I was really exited about season 2 of Korra and more knowing there gonna be season 3 and 4 already confirmed by Nickelodeon so I was expecting a lot of this season and....boy this was not what I was expecting, not get me wrong I like to be surprised if you can make something better, but that was not the case in this season.

This season have a plot that was at the start all over the place, it was suppose to be about the Spirits and what we get for 6 episodes about...love triangles, civil wars, dark spirits coming from every place, weak characters, and a lot I have to give them that funny moments and some cool new characters, then we get the real plot, the series focus a lot more and 4 awesome straight episodes, and then....ahhhhh wtf.

Ok lets analysis this start point by point of the weaklings parts of the season and then see the best aspects and episodes of this season (because there were a lot of good in this and I need to address to that too):

The bad:

The characters:  And I don't mean all characters, but the main ones were incredibly weak, annoying and stupid in this season, instead of learn at this point about their mistakes they did in season 1, they make now even worse mistakes in this season and let AGAIN some "predictable" villain manipulated them like freaking puppets. Some characters like Bolin who yes was really fun in this season, but he was a complete idiot and he wasn't that idiotic in season 1, Lin Bei Fong my favorite character on season 1, she didn't do ANYTHING in this season, I agrees with Doug Walker in his Vlogs reviews, she probably was taking stupid pills because she was an smart character in season 1 and in this season she wasn't listen to the only rational character of the main crew in the whole season...MAKO...the villain Tarrlok 2.0...oh sorry I mean UNALOQ was bland, not intimidate at all, and not have even 10% of the charisma of the previous main bad guy AMON, and he wasn't even close to the awesomeness of Azula or Ozai of Avatar: Last Airbender, he was a boring, greedy villain and so Vatuu, and that's a shame, because this crew know how to make awesome villains, but this one was a fail...but they give HIM the most power they ever give to any villain before, and guess what...not even with that he was interesting at all. But the worst character in this entire season was non other that, the main character itself....KORRA.

Korra was suppose to be the one who learn more in the previous season and make the more improved in for the start of this one...hell no, she learn ANYTHING, she makes the exact same mistakes she did in season one...even worsts mistakes, damn she was a total bitch in some occasions I wanted literally slap her watching the show in the 6 first episodes, the way she  treated Tenzin, Mako, HER OWN FATHER...fuck what a bitch, even worse (really she can be even worst than that)....she get her ASS KICKED EVERY SINGLE TIME.....do you guys remember how awesome was Aang with the Avatar state, how BADASS he was, even with only 2 elements Aang kick asses every time he enter to the Avatar state, ONLY AZULA and attacking him for the back was able to defeat Aang avatar state....this girl, get her ass handed by mere minion spirits and benders like every single time she enter to that state, she only defeat Unaloq in the end...i guess because the scripts say so. WTF HAPPENS??, this are the same people who give us, KATARA, TOPH, LIN, AZULA, SUKI, MAI, TY LEE, JUNE, KYOSHI AND HAMA....really? and they make this suppose to be the most badass ever girl....this weak. AND WORST....yes she can be even worse :cries::cries:....she is suposse to be the avatar, so be wise should be something at this point she should be learning and make right decisions, almost every decision she do in this season backfire her and her friends, and I know they have to make mistakes to improve, but she already make all those mistakes, not trust Tenzin Judgement, let her manipulate by Tarrlok...I mean Unaloq (seriously they are the same, no, Tarrlok was way more interesting at least), not listen to her friends, be impatience and try to solve everything with violence....all this she make it in season 1, in season 1 was FINE she suppose to make a lot of mistakes and she was facing an AWESOME calculate and intelligent villain like Amon, but seriously, TARRLOK 2...I MEAN UNALOQ.....SERIOUSLY?? nobody is than stupid. Ok, ok I gonna give her, after the episodes "Beginnings part 1 and 2" she get to her senses and do way better and calm....still she get her ass kick like several times even when she become the light giant spirit.

Just a little comparison of how weak this characters have been in this season in comparison with Aang and his friends. In episode "Harmonic Convergence" they try to break into Tarrloq 2.0 defenses...sorryyy UNALOQ...but even with the air advantage, they all get their ass kicked and were captured......Aang and the former team Avatar, Katara, Sokka, and Toph, successful did  the same attend by themself in SEVERAL OCACIONS: Fire Nation blockade in "Avatar Roku (Winter Solstice, Part 2)", breaking into the Earth King's palace in the episode of "The Earth King" and some many more, ONLY USING APPA....what the fuck, this were CHILDREN how this group of kids is way more compete than a bunch of teenagers and adults, plus Aang not was a FULL AVATAR in those episodes and KORRA WAS!!...ahhhh hate so much this girl right now.

The Story: SO in this season we was suppose to be around the Spirits and the Spirit world, and yes we get that.........with another civil war included, seriously that part about why the spirits were attacking humans was stupid, it was like that...why in hell the spirits not do the same with the Fire Kingdom when Sozin, Azulon and Ozai do the 100 years wars?? I don't like too much the new spirits, none of the new spirits were awesome as the old ones we meet in Avatar the Last Airbender, and I was not pleased with the resolution (I don't think neither was awful, just I was not pleased...personal opinion). I think one of the coolest thing in Avatar the last Airbender was the interactions of Aang and the previous Avatares like Roku, Kyoshi and others more, but they COMPLETELY remove that in this season, not only Aang was not the spititual guide of Korra at all (he just shows up twice and very short moments), now after the resolution the spiritual connection Korra SHOULD HAVE  was CUT...you fucking me right? how is that a cool thing, HOW? that part of the conclusion was not pleased to me at least, good to hear she is gonna make her own decisions...but she HAVE BEEN DOING THAT, and look the mess she does. Aang in the other hand listen to the previous avatars and he not only learn a lot, but he get always to his own way for solve every problem he encounter, that was what makes Aang an awesome character, why Korra cannot be like this in her own way?

The way the characters interact in this season god what the heck...staring again with Korra stupidity and Bolin naively when is Brother get in jail....what the heck? this are suppose to be likable characters but they stab each others back like a lot. The stupid love triangle AGAIN, WHYYYY?? that was the most criticize part of season 1, why they bring this back again, just for in the end make the characters broke up (SO GLAD FOR THAT), I just hope they have done with this for good in this season pleaseee....one of the highlights about Legend of Aang, was the smart way the handle the romance of Katara and Aang, not shoved that in our faces every time just in small doses in the right moments, this was a complete mess from day 1.

The Animation: Ok this was 50% bad, 50% good, so I will talk about the good in the goods part of the season later. The animation was ok, not bad, still way more impressive than a lot of cartoons I think the new studio make a good job, but some parts were a little off and weird, at least in the first 6 episodes, and not in every part, the fights still were badass.

The GOOD:

The Characters: Like I said, not all the characters were bad, I have to say the support cast shine in this season and with the exception of Tarrlok 2.0...ahhh I hate that copycat damn it, all the new characters were AWESOME. Mako I think he was way better in this season than the last one, with the exception of how weak he was as a Fighter, he was way more rational than everybody of the main crew, and I like way more his chemistry with Asami than with Korra; Tenzin, Bumi and Kya were fantastic I was expecting a little more of Kya and Bumi but not the least they never were annoying at the level of Korra, Jinora was AMAZING, she was more like Avatar Aang than Korra in the whole season, I think the kids in this series universe are the true badasses XD, if not was for Jinora Korra probably will have loose this fight, still I don't buy that Jinora were so spiritual and wise without ever go to the spirit world before, but those are minors complain, she still was cool, Meelo and Ikki were funny and likable as ever but they have little to do in this season T.T, the brothers Eska and Desna were HILARIOUS, I loved too much I wanted even more of them, I think they could be better villains than Unaloq. But my favorite character in this season of what I like to call him...the new SOKKA....was the one and only VARRICK, this guy crack me up every single time he was on scene, he and his assistant Zhu li stole every scene, and when he was reveal to be a bad guy, damn I love him even more, I probably will like this season if he was the main villain he was charm, likable, unpredictable, and funny as hell, I'm hoping we get a ton more of him in the next couple of seasons.

But as cool those characters were, the ones that make me nerdgass like a wild fan little girl to my screen were the OLD FRIENDS we meet again....first we get to see Wan Shi Tong again and the library and damn that part of the Professor Zei was dark but cool. and the one I scream like a girl literally when I saw him was....IROH, the old fat and good Uncle Iroh, damn I was so pleased with every little scene he was in, as awesome and wise he always have been, even if he is not voice anymore by the late Mako, Greg Baldwin still do a great impersonation of him, Mako will be proud, he was simply awesome, even the best parts of Korra in this season were thanks to his wise advises and knowledge.

The Comedy: I complain about how idiotic I found Bolin in this season, but not the least, the comedy of this season was way better than the last, almost thanks to Varrick, Eska and Desna...and of course Bolin too he was funny. Tenzin relation with his brothers was fun to watch too, almost better to see all the stuffs with Korra and her friends.

The Animation: Ok like i said, it was 50/50, after episodes 6, from the Beginnings to the end of the season, the animation did a fantastic work, incredibly fluid and gorgeous animated, love everything with the spirit world and the fights were even more badass, I still think season 1 was superior in the animation department, but that's is me.

The World: This is something this season and the last one have in common that I love, the progression of the world in the Avatar series I love the introduction of new technology, like the Movies theater, the explosive devise, the planes expanded and all the cool advantages we keep see it, I love how much emphasis the writers and animators give to this little aspects, I love the culture progression and the themes of how people and culture changes I think all that was very well handed in this season as good as the previous series.

Favorite episodes: There were 4 episodes that where AWESOME and they feel like Avatar The Last Airbender and Korra season 1, those episodes as you can guess were, "Beginnings Pat 1 and 2" "The Guide" and "A New Spiritual Age", this 4 episodes were beautiful and perfect, I could change anything (well some parts of Tarrlok 2./////gggrrrrr, you know who). There were others cool moments in others episodes like General Zhao cameo (priceless moment).

Korra Decision: even if I didn't like she lost her connection with her previous lives, or the final battle moments, and some others aspects of the finale, I feel that Korra did a good decision when she decide to let the portals open, I think that was the only wise thing Korra did, I still think that could be something for the last season and not for this one, but I think she did the right choice there and that was at least refreshing and lead to a good moral message about adapting and changing, I hope the consequence of this not be a bad thing in season 3.

Overall

As much I love the Avatar series I can't understand what happen in this season, the execution, the story, the weak character, all that ruined all the cool and funny parts, this was a mess in my opinion, and coming from Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko this was a huge step down from the awesome season 1 and the excellent and magnificent Avatar the Last Airbender. I have feel the obligation to say it, cause I don't see any body saying in reviews, so I probably alone with my friends in this but still I need to say it. I really, REALLY HOPE next season be better, they should make a MAIN VILLAIN for the rest of the 2 seasons, this of solve the villain of the current season is not cool, if you cannot top AMON, just bring him BACK, but not throw any generic and boring imitation of a former secondary villain of season 1. I believe a story is strong as their villain, but that can be say about the HERO, if the main hero is weak and uninteresting the story loss his charm, and Korra have been too much weak, worst if you compare her with the previous avatar AANG and he was a 12 years kid, she is a teenager, she should be more mature and intelligent than this, and she need to LEARN HER LESSONS, I hope not see her again doing the same mistakes she did in season 1, pleasee!!

RATING: 5.5 of 10 (mostly for the awesome 4 episodes, Varrick and Iroh)

If you are not agree with me, fine, this is my opinion and some of my friends share it, I wanted to known if anybody feel the same or thinks this season ROCKED, let your opinion and if you think this season was cool please explain yourself so I see I can understand this mess a little bit more.

UPDATES: WOW I'm WASN'T ALONE AFTER ALL :iconyesfinallyplz: Thanks you all guys for write your awesome analysis and critics about the season, I think we could turn still around this with our opinion, so please I implore you all to write your reviews and analysis of this season, I think Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko deserve to know what we really think abaout this season and the problems they have, I believe Korra still can become a badass character and this series can be way more better, so spread the world, write journals, comment on You Tube videos, share this on Facebook and share you opinions too, we can help with our opinion, so go ahead :la::la:

---SPOILER WARNING---
Wasn't she got beaten by spirit because she's trying to convert them instead of beating them to submission? BTW, my most favorite episodes on season 2 is the explanation how Avatar was born.

And the most disappointing one? The final episode. It's SO ULTRAMAN!!! C'mon, blue vs red, gigantic life form... and the final attack... it's totally Ultraman Specium Ray. Can't be more creative for the climatic final battle, huh?
