2 movies I couldn't see last year, but deserve to be talked. Double review feature:

THE GOOD DINOSAUR

Well 2015 not was just the year of spies or Star Wars, it also mark the return of a great imaginative studio who used to only do amazing films, and then Cars 2 fuck that up....but then  Inside Out make them return to their former glory and not only they decide to make one good film......they make TWO. The Good Dinosaur is not as great as Inside Out, but I still think is a worthy entry in the pixar's encyclopedia, full of memorable and likable characters and beautiful and breathtaking animation.

THE BAD:

-Too Cartoony designs???:
For me they were fine, but many critics have pointing out that the dinosaurs designs of this film looks too cartoony for the incredible realistic background designs, me I get over that 2 seconds after I saw the first shot of a Dinosaur, but if that bother any of you, well is in the film, so get over it.

-Too Short appearance by awesome characters: While the focus of the film is the relation between Arlo and Spot, I have to praise the rest of the characters, all with very interesting personalities and memorable moments, sadly almost all the others characters just appear very little in the film, so for the most part is just Arlo and Spot, but luckily both leads are pretty fun and enjoyable to follow.

 THE GOOD:

Again the obvious one first:

-The Animation: Amazing, great, fantastic....again it's Pixars, even the Cars movies looks amazing, so this one, specially the backgrounds, I seriously thought they were filming real backgrounds and placing the CG characters on them, but it's actually all animated, incredible work once again.

-The Story: Once again, very simply story and a very CREATIVE...concept, the narrative in very predictable but good still, this film ask the question, what would happen if Dinosaurs never extincts and the meteor that kill them never hit earth? in this movie Dinosaurs have evolve (no, not like in that awful Super Mario Bros movie) they learn how to talk and start working in farms, our story follows Arlo a little Apatosaurus who wants to earn his spot with his family, but he is a really tiny and a scary dinosaur, making almost impossible for him to get anything right, working on the farm, after a tragic event happens, Arlo get separated of his family and in his journey back he meet Spot, a little human boy who can't talk and act like a dog, both of them have to bond and surpass obstacles to get Arlo back to his family and in the Journey both have to surpass their fears and developed a beautiful friendship in the process. Again it's really simple, and in somehow you will predict everything, but they do it with a lot of heart, this film have some really beautiful scenes, in particular my favorite is the one with Arlo and Spot exchange their past in a really cleaver way but really heartbreaking, it was really beautiful.

-The Characters: I love all the characters of this film, specially the T-REXES pack, I love how they made the them act like cowboys, also FINALLY a film that show how really the VELOCIRAPTORS LOOKS LIKE....and yep I still prefer the inaccurate version of the Raptors of Jurassic Park ^^;, any who, the characters are pretty great and funny, sadly the majority have a very limited screen time so they enter and leave as fast as you starting to want to see more about them U.U, but as I stayed the focus is all in Arlo and Spot, and they were really great leads, I love their friendship and how it's developed, I love the fact that Spot is a human and he can't talk, and that been a little boy he still is incredibly more useful than Arlo against biggest foes, I love that Arlo was the scary cat of the film and be the one that need to evolve and conquering his fears and like I said almost all their scenes are amazing.

Over all The Good Dinosaur is not the greatest Pixar film but is a very enjoyable one, far better than the previous 3 films before Inside Out, so if you manage to be like me and still haven't see it, go and check it out as the tittle say......it's GOOD.

Ratting: 8 out of 10

THE WALK

The newest film from director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, Polar Express and Who Framed Roger Rabbit), this time to tell us the amazing story of the man who dare to put a wire across the Twin Towers and walk on it, the true story of a wire artist Philippe Petit. Starting by Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Philippe, this movie take us back in time to 1974 to relieve the incredible perform of this amazing artist, Zemeckis once again giving us an incredible story, full of amazing characters or in this case real people who dare to do something......impossible.

THE BAD:

I seriously can't find nothing to complain in this one, even I don't feel is a perfect film, everything here is done really well, the acting, the effects and the story, so I really have nothing.....if you think Joseph Gordon-Levitt french accent is distracting well he actually did a great job imitating the accents of Philippe, watching videos of him after see the film, I think Joseph nailed, but for some I heard is distracting, so keep that in mind then, I seriously think you will get over after his first couple of minutes.

THE GOOD:

-The Performance: With a small cast of actors this film have still manage to give us excellent performance from all of them specially Joseph, who kill it as Philippe, he is arrogant, charming and incredibly entertaining to see, also Ben Kingsley is awesome even with little screen time, the incredibly beautiful and talented Charlotte Le Bon as the love interest of Philippe in the film is also great, over all I think all the members of the crew did a great work and have great chemistry with each other.

-The Story: If you never heard of the heist of the century, well this was it, but instead try to enter a place for steal something, Philippe is trying to put a wire across the world trade center and walk from one building to the other suspended 1,368 feet in the air, this film show us how this man accomplish such a feat, and all I can say is that I was so much enjoy watching all of it, the film have a great sense of humor as well with the eccentric wire magician Petit and the way the film tell his story, even using some break the fourth wall narrative with Joseph telling to the audience some of this greatest accomplished and some of his failures.

-The Special Effects: Not gonna lie, the only shot I think in this film looks kinda fake is the opening sequence when they show the Statue of Liberty I was....yep it's CG, but after that.....all the scenes looks like they really were THERE, the recreation of the World Trade Center is AMAZING, and the wire scenes all looks incredibly real, I wasn't watching this in 3D, but I can imagine the vertigo and dizziness the wire scenes have to felt watching this on IMAX. The absolute best scene defined goes top the Walk on the twin towers, I can't even IMAGINE how someone can freaking do something that inspired and incredibly dangerous like Philippe did, but I bow to this legend for accomplished the impossible.

Over all this was an excellence film, it's sad I didn't watch it in theaters because probably could have make it into my list, totally recommended if you still haven't see it.

Basically, that bad Super Mario Bros. movie was a crap version of the Silurians from Doctor Who, and I hope The Good Dinosaur and the revived Doctor Who have fixed the "Planet of the Dinosaurs" idea after the Super Mario Bros. movie ruined it.
